STO 0316 Charter Report

On Saturday, July 6th 2024, a group of about 20 transit fans gathered in Gatineau, Québec, for the very first Transitdata Charters Division event: a full day of riding Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) bus 0316, the oldest bus in revenue service at the STO, and only one of two active buses still bearing the old white, blue and pink paint scheme (the other being 0511).

The itinerary was planned out to showcase various aspects of the STO system, both old and new. Photo stops included Terrasses de la Chaudière (where we had an interesting encounter with a security guard), several Rapibus stations, Aire d’attente Saint-Louis, the new Rue Seto layup, Rivermead and Allumettières park-n-rides, as well as The British hotel in Aylmer. Participants were also given mini-tours of Gatineau and Hull garages, where photo stops also took place.

Charter management would like to thank all those who helped make this inaugural charter possible, including Mario of YUL Bus Charters, operators Allie and Christiane, as well as all the staff at the STO who helped organise and coordinate this event.
